Major differences between the two cages

Imported cage

1. It reduces feed and water wastage (complete automatic drinking system and feeding troughs)

2. It prevents the act of cannibalism, pecking, egg eating which is common with deep litter layers can lead to the loss of revenue but this does not occur in caged birds

3. The outbreak of disease is curbed in caged birds unlike the way diseases are spread faster in the deep litter system

4. It is a good space manager as birds are not taking a lot of space and they are more organized. A farmer can rear poultry in large volumes on a farm site with limited space.

4. The local cage is also welded with cold drawn wire and then processed by electroplating but is not as reliable as the imported cage

5. The feeder (feeding trough) is made with lesser quality of PVC

6. The local chicken cage after cold galvanizing has a lesser power against corrosion resistance and will rust after decades of use
